The practice of Yoga Therapi is an experiential
therapeutic approach that explores the relationship
between one’s mind, body, and spirit.
Yoga (Sanskrit root yuj, “to unite”) essentially takes you
on a path towards self-actualization (atma-jnana) and personal
transformation on an emotional, physical and spiritual level.
An integrative Yoga therapy practice takes a Yoga practice
one step further, combining all styles and branches of Yoga
and utilizing the tools and benefits from each. Taught in an energetic and creative flow, Alison’s Yoga Therapi approach
enables individuals of all levels to experience the benefits of Yoga.
Yoga Therapi uniquely blends; contemporary holistic psychotherapy
practices with Yoga therapy techniques, including: asanas (Yoga postures),
pranayama (breath awareness), mudra (hand gestures), mantra (chanting),
meditation, nidra (psychic sleep) and relaxation techniques. Personalized Yoga therapy sessions created by Alison
integrate a range of Yoga postures, Yoga therapy techniques,
psychotherapy and movement. During this
process, Alison will guide you through a mind-body dialogue, that invites
you to explore sensations, perceptions, behaviors, emotions, and dreams.
Gaining awareness of these elements is key to reaching
a mind * body * spirit * balance.

Yoga therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward
improved health and well-being through the application of the philosophy and
practice of Yoga. -IAYT(International Association of Yoga Therapists)
Yoga therapy, derived from the Yoga tradition of Patanjali
and the Ayurvedic system of health care refers to the adaptation
and application of Yoga techniques and practices to help individuals
facing health challenges at any level manage their condition,
reduce symptoms, restore balance, increase vitality, and improve
attitude. -American Viniyoga Institute Gary Kraftsow
Yoga therapy is that facet of the ancient science of Yoga that
focuses on health and wellness at all levels of the person: physical,
psychological, and spiritual. Yoga therapy focuses on the path of
Yoga as a healing journey that brings balance to the body and mind
through an experiential understanding of the primary intention of
Yoga: awakening of Spirit, our essential nature. -Integrative Yoga
